Heinrich Hirdes started it all. A true pioneer in German hydraulic construction, Hirdes founded the company in 1912, with a focus on hydraulic construction and dredging. In the 1950s, the company expanded to include coastal protection works, construction of shipping waterways, land reclamation and maintenance dredging in coastal areas.

For more than three decades now, under the name Boskalis HIRDES, we combine the three business divisions of Heinrich Hirdes: Dredging & Hydraulic Construction, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Offshore and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Onshore.
